The expert committee of the University Grants Commission made an evaluation of the academic excellence performed by the institutions of Bharati. As per the advice of the UGC the Government of India had given the status of "Deemed to be University" to the Bharati Vidyapeeth, Pune.

Currently, the below mentioned seventeen institutions are the constituent units of Bharati Vidyapeeth University:

The course materials and syllabus of most of the present programs are modified after every two years. Besides, a number of new degrees, diploma and certificate programmes have been introduced. The academic and functional independence that the university gets has empowered it to be more dynamic and innovative. University of Bharati Vidyapeeth is one of the rare universities in India that have five different colleges of the medical science disciplines all in one campus, viz. allopathic medicine, homoeopathy, dentistry, ayurved, and nursing.

This is the only University in the country having in its campus, institutions of diversified professional and non-professional streams as medicine, dentistry, homoeopathy, ayurved, pharmacy, engineering, arts, science, commerce, law, social work etc. The university offers an ample variety of academic programmes to students to select their choice.
