Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences

The Krishna Deemed University was started in 1974. Jayawantraoji Bhosale had visualized the institution with the aim of helping the rural people with modern medical care, and to give medical, health and nursing education to the public.

Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences University i.e. KIMSU Complex comprises of different streams- Krishna Hospital and Medical Research Center and facilities for Medical, Physiotherapy, Nursing and Paramedical education.

The complex is situated on national highway no. 4. i.e.Pune - Bangalore highway and is well joined by air, rail and road through top cities of Maharashtra and surrounding states. The campus is self-contained with conveniences like guesthouse, sports, gymnasium, super bazaar, generator, laundry, cybercafé, fast food center, and it has its own water treatment plant, furnace and dirt disposal system. The Krishna cooperative bank has a branch in the campus. Residential services for doctors, paramedical employees and postgraduate and undergraduate students are accessible.

Krishna Hospital and Medical Research Center provides modern diagnostic and sophisticated treatment facilities for all diseases. Huge departments for all clinical streams are offered. A team of medical social workers is obtainable for counseling and supporting patients. Emergency services and trauma care are offered all the time. Hostel information: Boys are put up in a hostel which has 78 double rooms and 42 single rooms. Reading room, mess, recreation facilities have been given in the hostel. The medical college girls’ hostel has 97 rooms. It also has a club mess, Indoor games, T.V., reading and visitor’s room. I.H.R. resident hostel has 48 double rooms. New girls' hostel has 44 double rooms.

Sports information: The sports services examples indoor badminton court, gymnasium, basket ball court, well retained hockey and football grounds, indoor games like carom, table tennis and chess are provided for students. Daily sport and monthly sports and cultural functions are performed to get the excellent in students, numerous of them are bright.

Library information: The library is contributed to get information required by both students and staff. It is also open to the students of other organizations and health care professionals after prior appointment. Library has different reading rooms for undergraduate students (220 seats), postgraduate students (50 seats) and staff (30 seats)
